Dr. Larry Stamper, THDJD, PhD Chancellor/Professor
Born in Chickamauga, Tennessee, and raised in Menlo Park, California, in 1976, Dr. Larry Stamper was licensed, and ordained in 1978, by Rev. Dalton Dyer, Pastor of the Greater Friendship Baptist Church, Menlo Park, California. He went on to serve in pastoral leadership positions from 1994 to the present, as an expository preacher devoted to sound doctrine and theology.
His exceptional work ethics, to develop strong leadership, and aspiration for further theological education, has devoted his teaching as a Professor to include: Pneumatology, New Testament Introduction, Christology, Inductive Bible Study, Spirituality, Systematic Theology, Book of Acts, Bible Doctrine, Homiletics, New Testament Theology, Old Testament Theology, Leadership Foundations, Counseling for Spiritual Leaders, and Missiology.at Bible Based Seminary of Stockton, California, and, presently, Good News Seminary and Bible College. He is an experienced revivalist and lecturer, with the ability to evaluate and implement curriculum and policies, as well as to provide and develop curriculum and theology for education of pastors/ministers.
From 2010 through 2013, he has been an adjunct professor at Good News Seminary and Bible College in Tracy, California, and also serves as the Vice President, which allows him to continue to provide spiritual leadership and instruction to the student body.
Stamper’s dissertation on Johannine Christology investigates the Christology of Christ from the Johannine perspective.
He is affiliated with spiritual and academic organizations as a member of First Northern District Association, California State Convention, and National MB Convention.
From 2010 – 2012, he served as the academic dean of Good News Bible Seminary and Bible, and presently is the Vice President, where he seeks to establish a theological and biblically based curriculum that will produce competence and biblical acumen for the student body. Additionally, he is also committed to helping develop better worshipers in the Kingdom.
From 2013, he is serving as Chancellor/President/Professor, where he committed to making Good News Seminary and Bible College the best in the San Joaquin Valley.
Dr. Stamper has been married for 42 years to Dr. Carrie Stamper, DBS (doctorate in Biblical Studies) and has 2 children, Larry, II, and Phoebe.
Dr. Stamper is currently serving as Pastor of the Heavenly Gate Church in Stockton, CA
